The real terrorists

Everything I say.......is a lie.......Oberon.

In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.
...........Dwight D. Eisenhower...........

American policies are being driven by the military-industrial complex President Eisenhower warned us about......corporate influence steers this ship of state......but I have faith that we have started the journey of change with our votes yesterday. A world of change will come when we realize the truth......we are all slaves to the armament-energy-banking-pharma-terrorists.

Yes.......there are other terrorists too, those who would attempt to change the world by throwing bombs......but that is not change, that is only destruction.....they are just as culpable as those who wreak destruction through power and money.

Terrorism is the war of the poor......and war is the terrorism of the rich.......Sir Peter Ustinov.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Letter to Congress

A letter to congress........(sent one year ago)

Thanks to such documentary films as "Sicko" and "Maxed Out" the American people are starting to realize that the "Corporate Overlords", consisting of the Insurance Industry, Pharmaceutical Industries, HMO's, Banking and Credit Institutions, Petroleum and Gas Producers, Mortgage Lenders, Energy Brokers, with corporations such as Citibank, General Electric, American Intl. Group, Bank of America, HSBC Group, ExxonMobil, RoyalDutch/Shell, BP, ING Group, are and have been systematically and with coldhearted calculations, enslaving the American public and the worlds' people in an economic brutality that unbridled, influence peddling corporations could only have produced with the help of our elected officials. Every member of congress is duty bound to the voting public that elected them, not the lobbyists buying "favors" for cash or comfortable jobs in the "private sector". Whom do you serve, the people or the single-minded uncaring entities we call corporations? It is clear that "K Street" has made the hopes and dreams of the global corporate giants come true, and it is the "bought and paid for" congress that has betrayed the American public. As Thomas Jefferson put it, "when the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty". Today we have an economic tyranny, our government is ruled by corporations and it is congress and the president who are culpable. Be afraid, be very afraid, the winds of change are blowing, and they will sweep the traitorous from our midst, and we shall have liberty. We will VOTE. The ballot box is our weapon against this treachery. "It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped"-Hubert H. Humphrey. Tell congress to Pass H.R.676 Now, and support "PublicCampaign.Org". The writer of this piece is the author of the weblog "Lettuce Prey Four Whirled Peas", and is not afraid. "Don't Tread on Me".

As I look back at this letter to congress, I now realize my most glaring omission was not to include the multitude of armament manufacturers and defense contractors which I believe hold great sway over our, and the rest of the worlds' governments.

AMAZING DAY

Democracy?

Democracy! How can a choice between two political parties, neither of which truly represents the people be a democracy?

Nothing will change, the fat cats will get fatter, and the oil companies richer and atrocities will still be carried out world wide in our name. Capitalism needs the underdog, needs peaks and troughs and a democratic change of leadership is simply a distraction from the price of oil, food, and housing.

Obama will no doubt now be blamed for the global slump in the economy, just as Gordon Brown is blamed here in the UK, he will not be able to change anything because capitalism is too entrenched world wide, too many rich and powerful people have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

This can be heaven or this can be hell and capitalism with it’s constant majority of losers makes our beautiful world hell for too many people, innocents are brow beaten into conforming to a regime that will only serve them as an undermined, underpaid often confused member of the peasantry.

To accept democracy as anything other than an illusion and capitalism as a necessary and unchangeable way of life is to accept defeat, for us, for our planet and for our children. The planet, our mother earth will continue to be raped and pillaged in the name of capitalism and innocents will continue to be murdered in the name of democracy.

We must begin to think, theorise, debate and develop new ways that the world can be led, we need a brighter future than the one offered by capitalism, a fairer future, with peace, people allowed and encouraged to think and be responsible for themselves. It’s easy to hunker down and declare that nothing can change, but they can be because all things change.

Democracy, as we know it is just a way of bolstering and backing capitalism, there is enough of everything to go around, we could all share and still have surplus, but to begin we must be open minded, honest with ourselves and to dare think for ourselves and not be scared to communicate our thoughts.

A lot to ask? Perhaps we have to begin somewhere though and a deeper and more realistic look at the political and monetary system we are all living under seems a good place to start, otherwise I will always be banging my head against those two walls democracy and capitalism and I have a head ache already!

Thank you America

VoteVoteVoteVoteVoteVoteVoteVoteVote

For real change in the White House, don't vote for the old vanilla guy. The United States of America has 219 years of old vanilla guys, 43 old vanilla guys to be exact, and enough is enough. Unfortunately for Hillary Clinton (and me), the U.S. wasn't ready for a vanilla broads--yet--(we broads didn't get the right to vote until 1920) so give the chocolate guy a chance. Vote Obama.

Why I Vote

I vote for...........Peace
Politics is about, or should be, policy. I like Obama. He seems 'real': of the people somehow and very charismatic but you need more than charisma to lead America away from its need for greed. Obama is sadly lacking any policies and that worries the hell out of me.
The other fellow, short man with white hair, what's his name? McKain? Another republican with a moral standing. More Christian men misinterpretting god's (G) logic. As though you could shackle something so wonderous to something so trivial as mans primitive logic.
Gods help us all. God help America.

Just chew it

Only two levels

There are only two levels above death.

Acceptance........and........sharing.

conscious w/o awareness?

I wonder if consciousness is al-one
but awareness must (at least)
share a time and place?
(location ~ duration)
Anything compared is shared?
Does that place consciousness

Prisoner of War

I am a........prisoner of war.......you too.......are a prisoner of war.

Racism.......poverty.......and war........what a waste of time.........think what we could do with all the money we've spent on bombs and guns and bullets and tanks and rockets and plutonium and aircraft and warships and submarines and torpedoes and mines and flamethrowers and grenades and cannons and bayonets and bare hands and..........flesh.

When I stated that we will be better off when we finally put an end to all war forever.......a friend of mine said......"that would be impossible"...........I remember thinking.........I don't believe that.

trust as human

What we call human nature . . takes advantage of nature . .
Humans are in debt to nature . . and must pay respect.

The proof (or profit) of nature is awareness . .
Human nature is a job . . to pay the educational loans . .
Appreciation . . could be the most natural trend . .
if we achieve that choice . . to change credit rights . .
How frustration is remembered . . has discouragement, as judgment . .
so when things come to worse ! ! we make rules . .
But breaking the . . habit is creative support . . to respect gains trust.

HONESTY IS TOO RADICAL for prose!
Truth rings like music, or just poetry . .
individual style varies in degree to acceptance . .
in equality, understanding relaxes from thoughts . .
honesty as a meditation exercise . .
so it doesn't have to make sense . . yet . .
human evaluation is encouraging . . as supportive tribute

The Tank Man

Where is the..........Tank Man?....................I want to thank him.

This Vicious Cabaret

They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...

In no-longer-pretty cities there are fingers in kitties.
There are warrants, forms, and chitties and a jackboot on the stair.
Sex and death and human grime, in monochrome for one thin dime,
But at least the trains all run on time but they don't go anywhere.
Facing their Responsibilities either on their backs or on their knees
There are ladies who just simply freeze and dare not turn away
And the widows who refuse to cry will be dressed in garter and bow-tie
And be taught to kick their legs up high in this vicious cabaret.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The ballet on the burning stage.
The documentary seen
Upon the fractured screen
The dreadful poem scrwled upon the crumpled page...

There's a policeman with an honest soul that has seen whose head is on the pole
And he grunts and fills his briar bowl with a feeling of unease.
But he briskly frisks the torn remains for a fingerprint or crimson stains
And endevours to ignore the chins that he walks in to his knees.
while his master in the dark nearby inspects the hands, with a brutal eye,
That have never brushed a lover's thigh but have squeezed a nation's threat.
But he hungers in his secret dreams for the harsh embrace of cruel machines
But his lover is not what she seems and she will not leave a note.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The Situation Tragedy
Grand Opera slick with soap
Cliffhangers with no hope
The water-colour in the flooded gallery...

There's a girl who'll push but not shove and is desperate for her father's love
She believes the hand beneath the glove maybe one she needs to hold.
Though she doubts her hosts moralities she decides she is more at ease
In the Land Of Doing What You Please than outside in the cold.
But the backdrop's peel and the sets give way and the cast gets eaten by the play
There's a murderer at the Matinee, there are dead men in the aisles
And the patrons and actors too are uncertain if the show is through
And with side-long looks await their cue but the frozen mask just smiles.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The torch-song no one ever sings
The curfew chorus line
The comedy divine
The bulging eyes of puppets strangled by their strings

There's thrills and chills and girls galore, sing-songs and surprises
There's something hear for everyone, (reserve your seat today)
There's mischief and malarkies but no queers or yids or darkies
Within this bastard's carnival, this vicious cabaret.

I Pledge Allegiance

I pledge allegiance, to the Family of Man...and to the Freedoms for which it stands...One World, indivisible...with Liberty and Justice for all.

War of words

Ours leaders say we’re not supposed to talk to countries that may have links to terrorists. Anyone suggesting that we do gets hit with a backlash of criticism .. accused of legitimizing them ..and even treason. We don’t tolerate disillusionment well. In my opinion ..we are fighting a crusade ..a war of religious ideology ..which is transmitted by words ..and words, like incendiary devices, go off in one mind after another ..spreading exponentially ..like a virus .. getting planted in the brain ..evoking centuries old passions ..until people can’t take anymore ..and they pick up a rock ..or a gun ..or plant an incendiary device in the road ..because one lesson they’ve learned is that you can kill a bear by inflicting a thousand small wounds.

I really believe that, in this war ..the only available exit strategy is dialogue.

Has democracy failed?
Do we need another way?
Has the human race evolved beyond its primate primal functions?
The keepers of change have chained our thinking.
The movers and makers make our minds up.
We sit and contemplate where only art acts.

Something had better change.
Something soon.

A Modest Proposal

I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricassee or a ragout...........Jonathan Swift.

Saturn Devouring His Son

When we put profit above humanity........we are devouring our children.

"Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]

Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]"

My Half Cents

I am very grateful for being invited on this very profound forum.

Man was created equal in the eyes of God.But mans ambition, avarice, ego, bias made this world a bad place.I stand against accumulation of wealth, accumulation of power etc.I am against interest on money , against non regulation of profit making ,having started as a agnostic and a Marxist,i came close to God minus religion and to social democracy.
