English Folk Singing English Folk 1
The greatest living interpreter of English or any other folk song.
June Tabor was born on 31st December 1947 in Warwick, England.
Her ability is universally accepted. She has recorded a multitude of albums containing vast amounts of vintage songs dating back hundreds of years. She has also recorded with a great many other acts most recently with the Oyster Band where their live recording of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' did the rare thing when it equalled the original in its emotional intensity even though the rendition was nothing like the original.
Not content with being pigeonholed into one genre June has also worked with a Jazz Trio, Quercus, where together they recorded work of rare and sublime beauty.
June Tabor.
