This is pretty sobering. You know the inevitability of the progression...and then you see that the number of people in each family is increasing as the expenditure decreases...down to the last one. You can see that the last family is right up against the food/survival thing. It's very possible that some of them have been lost, and in their world it may not be unusual. How many random future events stand between the circumstances of the first family shown, and the last? How could our distibution system be changed to at least somewhat equalize those circumstances?
