..the critical element to happy-ness is that it seems to be an advantage..I prefer to feel more balanced with contentment..this is natural relaxation with all endured..but happy is due to human conditions of approval..

......good observation brad4d....but the dictionary says happiness is "a state of well-being and contentment"....so it's just a matter of semantics....and i liked your idea of "approval" and "advantage" as a condition of happiness...that quote is commonly attributed to buddha and beautifully describes the perspective that happiness is not a thing.....it is an attitude.

...consider that the translation of Buddha might validate word differences I'm trying to imply (i.e. that people use things to make them happy) with contentment being the profound attitude...comfortable perspective...
